COMMITTEE FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
UPDATE ON SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT INQUIRY - 24 MARCH 2010
Last week, on Thursday 18 March, 2010 the Committee of Regional Development had the opportunity to hear oral evidence from 27 organisations and some fifty participants at its Sustainable Transport Inquiry evidence engagement event, held at Parliament Buildings, Stormont. This event focused on exploring and prioritising the issues identified in the written submissions received to date, and was attended by representatives from the environmental, transport, business and governmental sectors.
Members found the event very informative, and wish to express their thanks for the time and expertise which all the participants so generously made available to the Committee. The outcomes from the individual working groups, and the contributions from the floor during the plenary sessions were recorded, and official report transcripts are being prepared for circulation to all participants this week. Once agreed, the transcripts will be considered by the Committee and published on the Committee's inquiry web pages.
Further updates will be available on the Committee's inquiry pages in the coming weeks.
Many thanks again to all of the participants for making the event a success.
