SUB-GROUP CONSIDERS KEY ISSUES
At its meetings on Friday 22 December 2006 and Monday 8 January 2007, the Programme for Government Committee’s sub-group on Schools Admission Policy considered the key issues arising out of its work on the schools admission policy.
The sub-group examined and debated issues such as the principles of the policy; the admission criteria that the Department of Education propose to use and how they will be implemented and the provision for sectoral schools such as integrated education and Irish Medium schools.
The sub-group previously heard from a wide range of key stakeholders and also considered written evidence from interested parties.
The sub-group plans to meet again on Thursday 11th January 2007 to continue its consideration of the issues.
