COMMITTEE PUBLISHES REPORT ON POLICING AND JUSTICE ISSUES

The Committee on the Programme for Government has published its report on Policing and Justice Issues.

This is the third report on the work that the Committee has been carrying out since November 2006.

While agreement was not reached on the Ministerial arrangements for policing and justice or on the timing of devolution, there was cross-party support on a range of matters including support for the rule of law and the devolution of the police and policing accountability framework. These are set out in detail in the Committee’s report.
