Guidance on Submitting Written Evidence to the Programme for Government Committee

1. All organisations or individuals are welcome to submit evidence.

2. Written evidence should normally be submitted by email to the Committee at pfg@niassembly.gov.uk. Submissions should be limited to two A4 pages and should address directly the issues on which the Committee is seeking evidence.

3. Under paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 of the Northern Ireland (St Andrews Agreement) Act 2006, qualified privilege from action for defamation applies to a written or oral statement made by a member of the Assembly, in or for, the purposes of the Assembly. This privilege does not apply to witnesses or evidence submitted to the Transitional Assembly.

4. It should be noted that the Committee may decide to make public any or all of the submissions that it receives.
