SAFETY COMMITTEE 1. Minutes of the Last Meeting Present: Dr J Hendron (Chairman) Apologies: Ms C Hanna In Attendance: Mr G Martin Mrs V Artt Dr J Hendron took the Chair at 1.10 pm.
Private Session 1. Minutes of the Last Meeting The minutes of the last meeting were agreed. 2. Matters Arising None. 3. Programme for Government The Committee considered the Clerk's draft response and agreed a number of amendments, which are set out below. The Chairman will forward the revised response to the Minister.
4. Targeting Social Need The Committee considered and agreed the prepared paper on TSN, subject to the need for an independent element of evaluation to be included at DHSSPS 6 g. The Chairman will write to the Minister asking for a response to the questions posed. The Clerk will seek research advice on deprivation indices currently in use in the Department and ask if there is a common index that could be used by all Departments. 5. Children Services Committee members suggested a few additions to the prepared list and agreed that the Clerk should write seeking written evidence from the organisations listed. The Committee agreed the timetable for the inquiry and the placing of the advertisement seeking responses. The inquiry will be launched and the advertisement placed at the beginning of August with a closing date for responses of mid-September. 6. Any Other Business The Committee had no objections to a Health and Social Services Management Trainee working with the Committee staff in September 2000. 7. Date and Time of Next Meeting The Committee will meet again at 2.00 pm on Wednesday, 6 September 2000. The meeting ended at 2.00 pm. Dr J HENDRON |
