The minutes of the previous meeting of the sub-Committee were agreed and signed by the Convenor.

The meeting went into public session at 3:10 pm.

The following witnesses were called and examined:

Professor Brice Dickson, Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and Ms Denise Magill, research worker with the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission.

Mr James Leslie, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Finance and Personnel, was unable to give evidence owing to a delay at another engagement. It was agreed that Mr Leslie be asked to give evidence the following week.

There was no further business.

4. DATE, TIME AND VENUE OF NEXT MEETING

It was agreed that the next meeting of the sub-Committee would be held on Wednesday 14 November 2001 in Room 152 Parliament Buildings at 3:00 pm, to take evidence from either the Chairperson or the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Finance and Personnel.

It was also agreed that the sub-Committee would meet the Speaker on Wednesday 21 November 2001 in Room 106 Parliament Buildings at 12:30 pm to discuss the conclusions and proposed recommendations of the Inquiry.

The meeting adjourned at 4.30 pm.
