MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE HEALTH, SOCIAL SERVICES AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE AT 10.30AM ON THURSDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER 2002 IN THE SENATE CHAMBER, PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS Present: Apologies: In Attendance: Dr Hendron took the Chair at 10.30am. Private Session 1. Chairman's Opening Remarks The Chairman re-emphasized the importance of members' ensuring that a quorum is maintained throughout all meetings, in order to facilitate the smooth running of the Committee's busy work programme and to maintain the integrity of the system. [10.35am] Public Session 2. Inquiry into Child Protection Services: Oral Evidence Southern Area Child Protection Committee Witnesses: Mrs Courtney and Mr Hamilton joined the meeting at 10.47am and 11.00am respectively. The Chairman welcomed the panel and invited them to make a brief presentation, to be followed by a question-and-answer session.
