MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE EIGHTY FOURTH MEETING OF THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE IN ROOM 135, PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS ON

The Committee met at 12.45 p.m. in private session.

Consideration of the Draft Video and Supporting Materials relating to the Review of Post-Primary Education

Mrs E Bell joined the meeting at 1.00 p.m. and Mr T Gallagher joined the meeting at 1.05 p.m.
The Committee viewed the video for a second time. This was followed by a lengthy and detailed discussion regarding the format and content of the video and the written supporting materials. The Committee agreed that a draft response, based on the discussion, should be prepared for consideration at the meeting scheduled for 21 February 2002 and members would submit any further views/comments for inclusion in the response to the Clerk by 3.00 p.m. on 20 February.
Mrs E Bell left the meeting at 1.43 p.m.
The Minister of Education was due to attend the meeting scheduled for 21 February to discuss the 2002 Capital Building Programme and the Committee agreed that arrangements should also be made for a short discussion on the video to take place.
The next meeting of the Committee was scheduled for Thursday 21 February 2002 at 10.15 a.m. in Room 135, Parliament Buildings.
The Committee was adjourned at 1.55 p.m.
