PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE TO ADVISE THE PRESIDING OFFICER MONDAY 22 MARCH 1999 AT 10.30 AM IN ROOM 21, PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS Present: The Initial Presiding Officer Mr B Bell (representing Mr J Wilson) Mr I Davis Mr M Durkan Mr D Ford Mr A Maskey Mr E McGrady MP Mr P Robinson MP Mr J Wells (representing Mr M Morrow) Mr C Wilson In attendance: Mr J Reynolds Mr N Johnston Miss A Moore Mrs G Campbell Apologies were received from Mr B Hutchinson, Mr McCartney and Mr Watson. 1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed. 2. MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising.
There was a discussion on the operation of the d'Hondt procedure. A number of issues were raised. Agreed That Members would be advised via Forthcoming Business on 23 March that a plenary meeting could be called at short notice. The matter was not discussed. Standing Orders: Mr McGrady asked when the Standing Orders would be published. The Initial Presiding Officer said that he understood that they had not yet been finalised by the Committee on Standing Orders.
