2. Executive Committee Business

2.1 Further Consideration Stage - Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill (NIA 11/07)

The Minister of Finance and Personnel, Mr Nigel Dodds, moved that the Further Consideration Stage of the Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill be agreed.

No Amendments were tabled.

NIA Bill 11/07 passed Further Consideration Stage and stood referred to the Speaker for consideration in accordance with section 10 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.

2.2 Final Stage - Financial Assistance Bill (NIA 4/08)

The First Minister, Rt Hon Peter Robinson, moved that the Final Stage of the Financial Assistance Bill be agreed.

Debate ensued.

NIA Bill (4/08) passed Final Stage.

The sitting was suspended at 12.31pm.

The sitting resumed at 2.00pm, with the Deputy Speaker (Mr Molloy) in the chair.

3.1 Motion - Draft Energy (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009

Proposed: That the draft Energy (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009 be approved.

Debate ensued.

The Question being put, the Motion was carried without division.

4. Committee Business

4.1 Motion - Take Note Debate - Strategic Stocktake

Proposed: That this Assembly takes note of the Executive’s budget position for 2009/10 and 2010/11, in the context of the strategic stocktake as conveyed by the Minister of Finance and Personnel in the statement on 20 January 2009.

Debate ensued.

The Question being put, the Motion was carried without division.

5. Private Members’ Business

5.1 Motion - Shared Future

Proposed: That this Assembly states its concern at the failure of the Office of the First and deputy First Minister to meet its own deadlines for the publication of a draft strategy for Cohesion, Sharing and Integration, incorporating the Racial Equality Strategy; expresses its concern at the marginalisation of the existing Shared Future Framework and Action Plan and the resultant absence of a clear policy on community relations; and demands that the Department urgently brings forward detailed proposals for addressing the continued problems and consequences arising from division and segregation.
