Top3. Public evidence session - Ulster Society of Chartered Accountants
The witnesses from the Ulster Society of Chartered Accountants gave evidence, in public, to the Committee on its inquiry into Strategy 2010. The Society gave their views on Strategy 2010 and answered a number of questions put by the Committee.
The Society also gave the Committee a brief update, in private, on its study into the financial structures of NI's SME business sector.
Ms Lewsley joined the meeting at 10.30am
Ms Morrice left the meeting at 10.45am
Mr McClarty left the meeting at 10.45am
4. Public evidence session - Ards Borough Council
Mr McCallan gave evidence, in public, to the Committee on its inquiry into Strategy 2010. He gave his views on Strategy 2010 and answered a number of questions put by the Committee.
Mr D Shipley Dalton joined the meeting at 11.30am

The Equality Commission gave evidence, in public, to the Committee on its inquiry into Strategy 2010. They gave their views on Strategy 2010 and answered a number of questions put by the Committee.

The witnesses from Falls Community Council gave evidence, in public, to the Committee on its Inquiry into Strategy 2010. They gave their views on Strategy 2010 and answered a number of questions put by the Committee.
The proceedings were suspended at 1.15pm for divisions and resumed at 1.30pm
Ms Morrice rejoined the meeting at 1.30pm

Economic Conference 2000 on 5 October at Galgorm Manor - Mr Clyde agreed to attend this conference (for the morning session), in addition to those members who had previously agreed to attend.

A response from the Minister was circulated to members on a question raised about the processing of investment project proposals by IDB.
The Chairperson requested that the Department's reply on New TSN should be put on the agenda for an early meeting.
The Chairperson reported that he had received a letter from Mr Attwood requesting that DHFETE should be called to give evidence as part of the Strategy 2010 Inquiry. Agreed - to discuss at the next Committee meeting.
The Committee Clerk advised members to forward any amendments they might have on the transcript of the evidence session on the Weights and Measures (Amendment) Bill to the Committee office within the next few days.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Wednesday 4 October at 11.00am in Strabane District Council offices.
