1. Briefing from representatives of the University and College Union (UCU)
The Committee received a briefing from representatives of the University and College Union (UCU): Paul Hudson and Jimmy Donaghey of the UCU Branch at Queens University, Denise Mitchell, UCU Branch Secretary at Stranmillis University College, and Eamonn Phoenix, UCU Branch Chairperson at Stranmillis University College. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.

2. Briefing from Queens University
The Committee received a briefing from Professor Peter Gregson, Vice-Chancellor, and Professor Gerry McCormac, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Outreach and Economic Development at Queen’s University. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.
Agreed: Members agreed to hold an additional meeting on 30th June to take evidence on the issues from Departmental Officials and from the National Union of Students / Union of Students in Ireland (NUS/USI).

1.31pm Mrs McGill and Rev Dr Coulter left the meeting
