1. Departmental response briefing on the Committee’s First Report on Training for Success
The Committee received a response briefing from Departmental officials: Catherine Bell, Deputy Secretary, and Nuala Kerr, Director of Skills and Industry Division, on the Department’s response to the Committee’s First Report on Training for Success. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.

11:58am The Deputy Chairperson adjourned the meeting
12:02pm The meeting resumed in public session
2. Ministerial update briefing on Teacher Education
The Committee received an update briefing from Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Employment and Learning, and Fergus Devitt, Director of Higher Education Division, on the Department’s initial response to the Committee’s Report on Teacher Education and on the disturbances in the Holylands area of Belfast on St. Patrick’s day. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.
The Deputy Chairperson adjourned the meeting at 12:48pm.
