1. Apologies
Apologies were received from Mr ONeill, Mr Hilditch, Mr Agnew and Mr Wilson.
2. Chairperson's business
The Chairperson reminded members of the rules on the use of the Senate Chamber, particularly in relation to mobile phones.
3. Minutes of last meeting
The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.
4. Matters arising
The Chairperson reminded members of the visit to Harperstown and Randalstown hydro-electric power stations and Movanagher fish farm on Friday 30 June.
Mr McElduff joined the meeting at 10.25am
5. Regional Development Strategy
The Chairperson advised that the Chairperson of the Regional Development Committee had requested the Committee's views on the Regional Development Strategy.
Agreed - that a response should be made to the Regional Development Committee taking account of the advice received from the Assembly's Research Office.
Mr McElduff left the meeting at 10.37am
6. Inland Fishing Inquiry
The Chairperson reported that 70 submissions had now been received. The Committee was greatly encouraged by the level of interest shown in the Inquiry and it was agreed that a Press Release should be issued. It was also agreed that the Committee would decide at next week's meeting which groups should be invited to give oral evidence.
Mr Shannon joined the meeting at 10.50am
7. Public evidence session - Fermanagh Angler's Association
Fermanagh Angler's Association gave oral evidence, in public, to the Committee on its inquiry into Inland Fishing.
8. Public evidence session - Moyola and District Angling Club
Moyola and District Angling Club gave oral evidence, in public, to the Committee on its inquiry into Inland Fishing.
Mr Shannon left the meeting at 12.55am
9. Date of next meeting
The next meeting of the Committee will take place on Thursday 6 July at 10.15am in the Senate Chamber.
The meeting closed at 1.14pm
