MLA OFFICE COST ALLOWANCES AND EXPENSES PUBLISHED

The Northern Ireland Assembly today published MLA Office Cost Allowances and expenses for the second quarter of 2009-10.

The Office Cost Allowance provides funding to MLAs to undertake Assembly and constituency work and includes the cost of running a constituency office and employing staff.

From the end of September 2009 the Assembly has made available detailed information on individual claims by MLAs to improve transparency and public accountability.
