The Secretariat Audit and Risk CommitteeThe Assembly Commission established the Secretariat Audit and Risk Committee (SARC) to support the Director General (in his role as Accounting Officer) and the Assembly Commission and Secretariat Management Group in monitoring their responsibilities for issues of risk, control and governance by reviewing the comprehensiveness of assurances in meeting the organisation’s assurance needs and reviewing the reliability and integrity of these assurances. Membership of the SARC includes 2 non-executive members: Mr Alan McQuillan (Chairperson) and Mr Colm McKenna. It also includes a member of the Assembly Commission. The Secretariat Audit and Risk Committee meets at least quarterly and on other occasions as deemed necessary by the Chairperson and / or the Commission. The Committee is provided with a secretariat function by the Corporate Policy Unit in the Director General’s Office.
