REVISION OF INTERIM CRITERIA FOR EVENT BOOKINGS

At the Assembly Commission on 24 April 2008 the following revisions to the interim arrangements for events bookings were agreed.

BOOKING OF COMMITTEE ROOMS

Therevised arrangements for the booking of Committee rooms (rooms 21, 106, 135, 144 & 152) for the businesses of: All Party Groups (APGs), All Party Assembly Groups (APAGs), Executive Ministers and Committees are as follows.

‘All Party’ and ‘All Party Assembly Groups’ Business

Given the formal registration requirements for APGs and APAGs the interim arrangements for such events at Parliament Buildings will not apply. The booking of rooms by these groups will, therefore, require a single signature by any MLA representing the group.

Availability of Committee rooms should be confirmed with the Committee Office Tel: 90521213 and the booking confirmation form sent to the Events Office.

Executive Ministers’ Departmental Business

Bookings of Committee rooms for the Departmental business of Executive Ministers will also require a single signature. Bookings will be accepted from the respective Ministers’ private or diary secretaries.

Availability of Committee rooms should be confirmed with the Committee Office Tel: 028 90521213 and the booking confirmation form sent to the Events Office.

Assembly Committee Business

Bookings for Assembly Committee related business in Committee rooms on behalf of the Committee Chairs will also require a single signature. In these cases bookings will be accepted from the respective Committee Clerk.

NB : Ministers’ and Committee bookings for events in the functions areas (i.e. Long Gallery, dining rooms and Great Hall, etc) of Parliament Buildings continue to require three signatures demonstrating cross-community representation.

Photography / Filming

Photography and filming will be permitted for bookings in the following categories:

Speaker’s events, Assembly Commission events, Executive Minister events, Assembly Committee events plus Members’ events where the 3 signature/cross-community requirement has been met. In all other cases requests for permission must be made in advance allowing sufficient time for consideration by the Assembly Commission.
