COMMITTEE MEETING – 18 NOVEMBER 2008
I refer to the above meeting.
As you will be aware, Members undertook a detailed consideration of the clauses contained within the Diseases of Animals Bill. I have recorded their requests for additional information and consideration of amendments in the attached table, under the heading “Output”. I would appreciate if you could forward to your colleagues for comments in the relevant column. The Committee will return to the matter at the first meeting following the Christmas Recess, most likely to be 13 January 2009. I would be grateful for a response by 12:00 noon, 4 December 2008.
The Committee would request confirmation that the Minister will be attending the negotiations in respect of the EU Council Decision on fish, scheduled for 17 – 19 December 2008. The Committee would also request a copy of the Department’s position paper in respect of this matter following the publication of initial proposals on 7 November 2008.
