Access information

Parliament Buildings is open to the public between 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Members of the public can watch Plenary Sittings from the Public Gallery on Mondays from 12 noon and Tuesdays from 10.30am and are able to attend Committee meetings held in public session. For details of meetings you can attend please visit the business diary.

If you are planning a visit to Parliament Buildings there is a public car park to the East of the building. See here for directions.

Translink provide regular Metro services (20A, 23 and 29) through the Stormont Estate, all of which stop at Parliament Buildings. All services have stops in the city centre, with Services 20A and 23 having a stop at Central Station for those travelling into Belfast by train.

Did you know that Stormont Estate is a public park?
Pedestrian's may access the Estate between 07.30 and 18.00 daily, with later closing times in the summer months.

Special Requirements:

• Any Visitor who requires assistance should make themselves known at the external Search Facility where arrangements will be made to ensure that they gain access to the building
• Parliament Buildings has disabled parking in the Upper East Carparks by prior arrangement. Call +44 (028) 90521586
• Wheelchair users can access the building at the East door.
• Induction loops for people with hearing difficulties are installed in public areas.

Tours of Parliament Buildings

Guided tours of Parliament Buildings are available on weekdays from 10.00am to 4.00pm for invited guests of Members or Officers of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

With the exception of Bank Holidays and Christmas Recess, tours may also take place from 4.00pm to 9.00pm, Monday to Thursday and on Saturday from 10.00am to 9.00pm provided they are accompanied by hospitality.

Educational Visits to Parliament Buildings

Educational Visits to Parliament Buildings are available Monday to Friday for schools and other groups wanting to learn about the Northern Ireland Assembly. An educational visit involves a presentation by an Education Officer and a tour of Parliament Buildings. It may also include one or more of the following:

• an activity session, eg mock election;
• a Q & A session with MLAs;
• a talk by Assembly staff, eg a Committee Clerk.
