The Deputy Chairman declared the meeting open at 3.36p.m. The meeting began in open session.

1. Apologies.

1.1 None.

2. Inquiry into European Structural Funds and Community Initiatives - Evidence Session.

2.1 Representatives from the Ulster Beekeepers Association, Mr Norman Walsh and Mr David Wright, attended the meeting and presented evidence to the Committee in connection with its Inquiry.

2.2 The representatives answered questions from the Committee.

2.3 Representatives from the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA), Mr Seamus McAleavey, Ms Mary Magowan, Ms Maureen Piggot and Mr Gordon McCollough, attended the meeting and presented evidence to the Committee.

2.4 The representatives answered questions from the Committee.

The Deputy Chairman declared the meeting in closed session at 5.25pm

2.5 Specialist advisers Dr Amanda Sloat and Dr Cathal McCall commented on the evidence presented by both organisations.

3. Any other business.

3.1 The Committee considered the letter from the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure regarding Executive Programme Funds.

Resolved: The Committee agreed to write to the Minister of Finance and Personnel for advice on this matter.

3.2 The Committee noted a Press Release regarding the Evidence Sessions relating to its Inquiry into European Structural Funds and Community Initiatives.

Resolved: The Committee agreed the press release for issue on 20 June 2002.

The Deputy Chairman declared the meeting closed at 5.30pm.
