Matters Arising

1.2 EU Structural Funds - Evidence Session

1.2.1 The Committee deliberated on the Evidence Session, scheduled for 29 June.

1.3 Northern Ireland Affairs Committee, Third Report - the NIO 2000 Departmental Report

    1.3.1 The Committee noted the letter to the Department of Finance and Personnel.

    1.4 Programme of Government

    1.4.1 The Committee deliberated on a letter dated 22 June from the Minister of Finance and Personnel on the Programme of Government.

1.5 Treasury Rules

1.5.1 Mr Hussey informed members of the need for information on the effect of devolution on Treasury rules on leasing.

Mr Hussey and Mr Gibson left the meeting at 2.30 pm.
The Committee went into open session at 2.30 pm.

Department of Finance and Personnel Strategic Plan 2000-2003 and Business Plan 2000-2001

1.6 Members questioned officials from the Department of Finance and Personnel on the Department's draft Strategic Plan 2000-2003 and Business Plan 2000-2001.

The Committee went into closed session at 3.35 pm.

Programme of Government

1.7 Members questioned officials from the Department of Finance and Personnel on the Department's proposals for the Programme of Government.

1.8 Resolved: The Committee agreed to consider a formal response on the proposals for a Programme of Government at the next meeting of the Committee.

Financial Monitoring Arrangements

1.9 Members questioned an official from the Department of Finance and Personnel on the Department's June Monitoring arrangements.

1.10 Resolved: The Committee agreed to seek further information on the resources released from the June Monitoring round.

1.12 Parental Responsibility for Unmarried Fathers and Scientific Tests to Determine Parentage

1.12.1 The Committee deliberated on a letter dated 27 June from the Minister of Finance and Personnel enclosing a draft policy memorandum on proposed legislation on parental responsibility for unmarried fathers.

1.12.2 Resolved: The Committee agreed to consider the matter further at a later date.

1.13 Trustees' Powers and Duties

1.13.1 The Committee deliberated on a letter dated 27 June from the Minister of Finance and Personnel enclosing a consultation paper on reforms of the law of trusts and proposals for a Trust Bill.

1.13.2 Resolved: The Committee agreed to consider the matter further at a later date.
