Members observed two minutes’ silence.

2.1 The Speaker advised Members that the Secretary of State had directed that the Assembly should sit on Tuesday, 3 October 2006 at 10.30 am to consider business as it appears on the Order Paper.
- Secretary of State Motion
3.1 Proposed: That the Assembly notes the work of the Committee on the Preparation for Government and the report on Institutional Issues.
Debate ensued.
The Sitting was, by leave, suspended at 12.33 pm.
The Sitting resumed at 2.00 pm, Deputy Speaker (Mr Jim Wells) in the Chair.

After debate, the Question being put, the Motion was carried without division.
