1. Personal Prayer or Meditation
Members observed two minutes’ silence.
2. The Speaker’s Business
2.1 The Speaker advised Members that the Secretary of State had directed that the Assembly should sit on Tuesday, 19 September 2006 at 10.30 am to consider business as it appears on the Order Paper.
3. Committee Business
3.1 Motion – Report on Law and Order Issues
Proposed: That the Assembly approves the second report from the Committee on the Preparation for Government, on Law and Order Issues; agrees that it should be submitted to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and, pending restoration of the Institutions, calls on the Secretary of State and others to address those matters identified in the report as requiring resolution or further discussion.

The Speaker drew the attention of the House to the convention on Members’ opportunities to reply to accusations made against them, and advised that guidance would be prepared for Members on maiden speeches.
