1. Personal Prayer or Meditation
Members observed two minutes’ silence. 2. The Speaker’s Business
2.1 The Speaker advised Members that the Secretary of State had directed that the Assembly should sit on Monday, 11 September 2006 at 2.00 pm to consider business as it appears on the Order Paper.
2.2 The Speaker delivered rulings on Standing Order 3 (g) and on interventions.
3. Committee Business 3.1 Motion – Report on the Economic Challenges Facing Northern Ireland
Proposed: That the Assembly approves the first report from the Committee on the Preparation for Government on the economic challenges facing Northern Ireland; agrees that it should be submitted to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and, pending restoration of the Institutions, calls on the Secretary of State, the Committee on the Preparation for Government and others to take action to implement the recommendations in the report.
