Young people to tell MLAs what they think of public transport. Click here to subscribe to the RSS

A group of young people will be here at Parliament Buildings today to tell MLAs what they think of public transport. The Committee for Regional Development has invited them along and is keen to hear their views and give them the chance to have their say and help shape transport policy. What the Committee hears will be very useful in its work on sustainable transport.

The young people - from YouthAction’s Community Leadership Programme - worked with the Consumer Council to develop their own questionnaire to learn more about young people’s experiences of using public transport. The group then asked other young people what they thought about access, costs, customer service and availability of public transport in their area.

As well as producing a report on their findings called ‘Transport Matters’ the young people will perform a drama.
