2.1 Consideration Stage - Commissioner for Older People Bill (NIA Bill 21/09)

Junior Minister, Mr Robin Newton, moved the Consideration Stage of the Commissioner for Older People Bill on behalf of the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister.

Six amendments were tabled to the Bill .

That this Assembly notes the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment's Strategic Energy Framework which is intended to establish the direction for Northern Ireland energy policy up to 2020.

Debate ensued.

Mr Brian Wilson introduced a Bill to make provision about hunting wild mammals with dogs; and for connected purposes.

6.2 First Stage - Victims and Survivors (Disqualification) Bill (NIA Bill 6/10)

Mr Peter Weir introduced a Bill to narrow the classes of persons who may benefit from provisions in the Victims and Survivors ( Northern Ireland) Order 2006.

Bill passed First Stage and ordered to be printed (NIA Bill 6/10).

6.3 Motion - Grass Cutting

Proposed:

That this Assembly encourages the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and the Roads Service to co-ordinate better the cutting of grass in public spaces for which both organisations are responsible; and calls on the two organisations to examine how they can develop a single, more efficient and effective service for the future.
