MEETING WITH MICHAEL O'DONAGHUE

The deputy First Minister is meeting Michael O'Donaghue tomorrow in Parliament Buildings, to mark the publication of Michael’s book of poetry 'In Black and White'.

Michael, who has learning difficulties, volunteers two days a week in the Housing Executive. It was through his work at the Housing Executive that its Chairman, Brian Rowntree, heard of Michael’s poetry writing and helped him with the publication of the book. So far, Michael’s book has generated £3,000 in sales, which Michael has donated to three charities: Foyle Hospice; North West Roma Association; and North West Downs Syndrome Trust.

The deputy First Minister would be delighted if other MLAs would like to meet Michael tomorrow (22 Sept) in his office (Room 16) in Parliament Buildings at 11.30am.
