COMMITTEE ON THE PROGRAMME FOR GOVERNMENT

Request for Submissions on Lifetime Opportunities,
Government’s Anti-Poverty and Social Inclusion Strategy

A Committee on the Programme for Government has been established by the Transitional Assembly to agree priorities for a restored Executive and to make preparations for restoration.

The Committee is currently considering the extent to which the recently published Lifetime Opportunities Strategy provides a satisfactory basis for a restored Executive to take forward action to tackle poverty and social exclusion. To inform its consideration of this matter the Committee wishes to invite organisations or individuals with an interest in tackling anti-poverty and social exclusion to submit written evidence by email to the Committee (pfg@niassembly.gov.uk). Submissions should be limited to two A4 pages identifying:

- aspects of the Lifetime Opportunities Strategy which should be retained as priorities by a restored Executive;

- issues that have not been adequately addressed in the Lifetime Opportunities Strategy but which are critical to delivering the goals contained within the Strategy.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 5 January 2007.

Advice on submitting written evidence can be obtained at http://archive.niassembly.gov.uk/transitional/pfg/pfg_subs_written_evidence.htm
