1. Minutes of the Last Meeting
The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.
There were no matters arising.
3. District Council Community Services Programme
Panel Members: Dr Jeremy Harbison, Deputy Secretary
Mr Joe Wright, Voluntary Activity Unit
Ms Maeve Walls, Voluntary Activity Unit
The Chairman welcomed the panel to the meeting at 2.10 PM after which they gave a presentation with an accompanying paper followed by a question-and-answer session, which is summarised in Annex A.
4. Funding of Voluntary and Community Sector
Panel Members: Dr Jeremy Harbison, Deputy Secretary
Mr Don Harley, Social Inclusion Branch
The Chairman welcomed Mr Harley to the meeting at 3.00 PM and there followed a question-and-answer session on the report on future funding for the community /voluntary sector, which is summarised in Annex B. The Chairman thanked the panel for their presentation, and they left the meeting at 3.35 PM.
Agreed: The Committee is content for the report to be remitted to the Executive Committee with a recommendation on wider consultation with the sector.
The next meeting is scheduled for 12.00 PM on Tuesday 15 February in Room 144, Parliament Buildings.
