There’s a busy week ahead for the Assembly and for Parliament Buildings. In addition to the Plenary sessions on Monday and Tuesday and 14 weekly Committee meetings, 12 schools will be here throughout the week for educational tours and visits.

The High Commissioner of Namibia will arrive on Monday for a tour of the building and to meet with Assembly representatives. The Fold Housing Association will be in the grounds of Parliament Buildings on Tuesday to launch its Brain Bus. This new revolutionary mobile therapy unit for people with dementia will bring the latest technology and research to Northern Ireland.

On Thursday the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure has invited the Beam Creative Network to perform in Parliament Buildings. ‘In your head’ is based on the issue of men’s mental health and both MLAs and Assembly staff will be able to take part in the Long Gallery.

The launch of Barnardo's Report will be held within Parliament Buildings as will the manifesto launch of the Northern Ireland Food & Drink Agency. The Rainbow Project will meet with MLAs to discuss concerns of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Community.

As we enter the festive period, the Speaker will host a Christmas reception on Thursday to unveil the new Christmas tree in the Great Hall and officially switch on the Christmas lights.
