ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE WELCOMES PUBLICATION OF UTILITY REGULATOR REPORT
The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Regional Development met with the Utility Regulator today in advance of the publication of the Utility Regulator’s report assessing Northern Ireland Water’s cost and performance for 2007-10.
The Utility Regulator’s report looks at Northern Ireland Water’s cost and performance against its Strategic Business Plan. The Committee welcomed the Utility Regulator’s assessment of the progress made to date by Northern Ireland Water in delivering high quality water and sewerage services in Northern Ireland, especially in the context of the service challenges faced by Northern Ireland Water.
The Deputy Chairperson, Michelle McIlveen MLA, said today: “The Committee welcomes the publication of this report. There are challenges facing Northern Ireland Water but Members acknowledged the progress that Northern Ireland Water is making. The report contains a lot of extremely detailed data on which all of the stakeholders will want to reflect.
“The Committee looks forward to seeing improved efficiency and delivery of what is a vital service for every household, organisation and business in Northern Ireland.”
