Motion: Pay Parity for Further Education Lecturers

That this Assembly supports the campaign of Further Education lecturers for pay parity with teachers in schools; and calls for an end to Further Education lecturers’ pay levels being decided by the Government’s public sector pay policy.

Amendment 1:  Leave out all after ‘schools’ and insert:

‘; notes that Further Education lecturers’ pay is currently restricted by HM Treasury’s public sector pay policy; and urges the Executive, in light of this constraint, to consider how pay parity could be achieved.’
