2. Executive Committee Business

2.1 Statement - Publication of PPS4 and Draft PPS16

The Minister of the Environment, Mr Edwin Poots, made a statement to the Assembly on the Publication of PPS4 and Draft PPS16, following which he replied to questions.

The Deputy Speaker (Mr Molloy) took the Chair.

2.2 Statement - Welfare Reform

The Minister for Social Development, Mr Alex Attwood, made a statement to the Assembly on Welfare Reform, following which he replied to questions.

The sitting was suspended at 12.48pm.

The sitting resumed at 2.00pm, with the Deputy Speaker (Mr Dallat) in the Chair.

2.3 Consideration Stage - Tourism (Amendment) Bill (NIA Bill 30/09)

The Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Mrs Arlene Foster, moved the Consideration Stage of the Tourism (Amendment) Bill.

No amendments were tabled to the Bill.

Proposed:

That, as provided for in Standing Order 53(1), this Assembly appoints an ad hoc committee to consider the Assembly Members (Independent Financial Review and Standards) Bill, and to submit a report to the Assembly by 25 January 2011.

6.1 Motion - Integrated and Shared Education

Proposed:

That this Assembly notes the report by Oxford Economics 'Developing the Case for Shared Education'; believes that the current education system is unsustainable; recognises the economic, educational and social benefits that can come from integrated and shared education; and calls on the Minister of Education to actively promote a system of integrated and shared education throughout Northern Ireland.

6.2 Amendment

Proposed:

Leave out all after the first ‘Shared Education’ and insert:
