Members observed two minutes’ silence.
2. Executive Committee Business
2.1 Statement - Executive’s Action Plan in response to the Barroso Taskforce Report
The deputy First Minister, Mr Martin McGuinness, made a statement to the Assembly regarding the Executive’s action plan in response to the Barroso taskforce report, following which he replied to questions.
3. Private Members’ Business
3.1 Motion - Educational Underachievement
Proposed: That this Assembly recognises the threat to future prosperity and well-being posed by educational underachievement in many communities; and calls on the Executive, and the Minister of Education in particular, to produce a cross cutting departmental action programme designed to tackle educational underachievement.

The sitting resumed at 2.00 pm, with the Deputy Speaker (Mr Dallat) in the chair.
Debate resumed on the Motion.
The Question being put, the Motion was carried without division.
3.2 Motion - Social Housing
Proposed: That this Assembly notes, with concern, the Department for Social Development’s recent priority change which gives greater emphasis to the refurbishment of social housing, as opposed to redevelopment; further notes the huge detrimental effect this will have on the most vulnerable people in our society; and calls on the Minister to provide social homes fit for the 21st century throughout Northern Ireland.
