‘Commencement

2. Section 1 comes into operation at the end of the period of 5 years beginning with the day on which this Act receives Royal Assent.’

‘Disqualification

1. A person shall be disqualified for being a councillor if that person is a Northern Ireland Minister or Junior Minister.’

As an amendment to the amendment tabled by Ms Dawn Purvis on 4/10/2010, inserting a new clause after clause 2.

At end insert -

‘ “ Northern Ireland Minister” and “Junior Minister” have the same meaning as in the Northern Ireland Act 1998’
