In attendance for the private session at 12.20pm: Dr Iain Skewis (Specialist Adviser for the Tourism Inquiry).
1. Tourism Inquiry
1.1. The Committee discussed its inquiry into Tourism with its Specialist Adviser.
Agreed - to take oral evidence in a conference-style event. The Committee approved in principle to hold 2 events, weeks commencing 16 & 23 September 2002.
Agreed - the 8 themes for workshops.
Agreed - that the Specialist Adviser will allocate which workshops delegates will attend and Committee will approve.
Agreed - that no expenses will be paid to delegates attending the conference.
Agreed - to employ the services of an event organiser and to seek quotations from 5 different event organisers.
Agreed - that one event should take place West of the River Bann and another East of the River Bann.
2. Date of next meeting
2.1. The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Wednesday 12 June 2002 at 10.15am in Room 144, Parliament Buildings.
The Meeting closed at 1.00pm.
