Departmental Finance Briefing
11:03am Anna Lo joined the meeting
The Committee received a briefing from Departmental representatives: Greg McConnell, Deputy Secretary, and Trevor Connolly, Director of Finance & European Division, on provisional 2007-08 outturn, the June Monitoring Round and European Social Funding. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.

Briefing from the NI Union of Supported Employment
The Committee received a briefing from representatives of the NI Union of Supported Employment: Margaret Haddock, Chairperson, Edyth Dunlop, Regional Manager, Lorraine Boyd, Supported Employment in Action Project Co-ordinator, Anne McAleer, and Robert Watson, on the findings of the Supported Employment in Action Project and issues that affect people with disabilities. The briefing was followed by a question and answer session.
Agreed: Members agreed that the Chairperson write to the Departments for Employment and Learning, Education, Social Development and Health on cross-cutting issues relating to people with disabilities.
Agreed: Members agreed that the Chairperson write to the Department for Employment and Learning on the issues of concern to NI Union of Supported Employment and Mencap.

Members noted an update paper from the Department on Training for Success

Members noted a number of items of correspondence and agreed responses.
The Chairperson updated Members on a meeting with Mencap held on 18 th June.

Members noted a number of Departmental press notices issued recently.
