1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the seventeenth meeting held on the 17 January 2008 were agreed.
Mr Logue left the meeting.
2. RECRUITMENT TO DIRECTOR POSTS
The Speaker welcomed Mr H Widdis, the acting Head of Legal Services and Mr F Duffy and Mr E McGoldrick, members of the Implementation Team to the meeting.
The Director General spoke to a paper detailing the recruitment process for the four Director Posts. Following consideration, the Commission approved the person specification outlined for the posts. The Commission also approved the advert for the Director Posts and agreed that it be placed in the press week commencing 11 February 2008.
The Commission endorsed the candidate information pack and application form developed by Capita RAS and noted the job specific competences sought for the Clerking, Engagement and Resources Director posts.
Mr McGoldrick informed the Commission that refresher training on employment law and competency based recruitment would be provided to Members as soon as possible. It was agreed that Ms Curran, Assistant Assembly Clerk would provide the training in-house. The Commission also considered their role in relation to the composition of both the sift and interview panels, and it was agreed that the Director General would speak individually with Commission Members to discuss their participation.
The Director General also agreed that an updated timetable in relation to the recruitment process would be provided at the next Commission meeting.
3. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
It was agreed that the next meeting of the Assembly Commission would be on Wednesday 13 February at 9.30am in Room 106.
